Tallgrass Chosen as Nonprofit Partner for #ILoveWichita Design Contest
The Young Professionals of Wichita has selected the Tallgrass Film Association as its nonprofit partner for the #ILoveWichita t-shirt contest. Tallgrass, now in its 14th year, was selected based on its economic impact on Wichita, its connection to the city’s creative community and its role in creating a great quality of life for all ages, particularly young professionals.
“We are so honored to be recognized by the Young Professionals of Wichita,” said Lela Meadow-Conner, executive director of Tallgrass Film Association. “TFA is excited to be able to offer cinematic programming equal to that found in larger cities and understands the crucial importance of Wichita's young professionals in enhancing and transforming our community.”
Young Professionals of Wichita’s t-shirt contest is intended to promote Wichita pride while also supporting and raising awareness for nonprofits and local creative community.
A panel of Wichita community leaders and artists will select the top five design submissions. These selections will then be put to a public vote to determine a winner.
The winning design will be announced at a celebration held at the Workroom on Friday, June 24. This will be part of the month’s Final Friday event. The t-shirts will be on sale, and the net profit is to be split between the design contest’s winner and the nonprofit partner, the Tallgrass Film Association.
Submissions for the design contest will be accepted online, beginning on Feb. 15. Wichita metro area residents of high school age or older are eligible to apply.
