About Riverfest 2018

Riverfest, the state’s largest community event, will take place June 1-9. It will feature 118 total events, including diverse concerts, fireworks shows, fun on the Arkansas River, athletic and other contests, and entertainment and cultural performances for all ages.

“The local ownership of Meineke Car Care Centers is committed to supporting our community as we have been born and raised here,” said Ryan Blasdale, a partner in Meineke, where early-bird buttons are available through May 5. “Our partnership with Riverfest is one of our favorites as they and their volunteers all truly embody the spirit of Wichita and everything that makes this city great.”

Besides traditional Riverfest favorites, the 2018 festival includes 19 events brand new for this year. Attendees can check out the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack show or demonstrations by The Last Carnival circus group in Ackerman’s Backyard (A. Price Woodard Park), compete in the Carlos O’Kelly’s Salsa Chop-Off, watch chefs transform festival food court items in the It’s Not Faire competition, marvel at the XPogo stunt team, dig for fossils with Field Station: Dinosaurs, see a unique show by Pittsburgh-based Squonk Opera or get an immersive virtual reality experience in the Cox Kids Corner. The festival has more indoor events than ever, such as Wichicon, the Riverfest Classic Car Show, a Wichita eSports tournament and gaming area, and KidFest.

“Riverfest is our region’s signature event, and early-bird pricing on buttons helps ensure everyone can join the party,” said Mary Beth Jarvis, president and CEO of Wichita Festivals, Inc.
