Don't Miss David Sedaris Book Signing at Watermark
Since gaining national attention with the NPR broadcast of his essay SantaLand Diaries in 1992, David Sedaris has consistently been one of the most subversive, cynical, and funny voices in literature.
His books Barrel Fever, Naked, and Me Talk Pretty One Day are especially revered for their biting self-deprecation and unflinching looks at his personal and early family life.
In May, David released his newest book, Calypso, and he's marking the occasion with a book tour aimed specifically at independent booksellers. Luckily for Wichitans, that brings him to local landmark Watermark Books & Cafe Wednesday, June 20 for a book signing event.
This won't be the first visit to Watermark from Mr. Sedaris. If you look closely among the heavily-marked walls in the downstairs meeting room, you'll find an inscription and doodle from the author. Anytime he holds an event marks a special occasion, and fans would be remiss not to make the trek to see him.
David Sedaris is somewhat infamous for his highly personalized, personal inscriptions to fans wanting their book signed. Many of his dedications cannot be printed in the confines of this publication, however, suffice it to say it will be a one of a kind memento you'll never forget.
The event's $28 ticket includes a copy of Calypso for David to sign, and as always he is incredibly amiable to signing any books of his that fans bring with them. Although, he makes it clear he will NOT be signing any other books, even those by his equally hilarious sister, Amy.
Watermark will also have two specialized box lunches available for hungry patrons, as well as all his books available for purchase.
Watermark Books & Cafe is located at 4701 East Douglas, at the corner of Douglas and Oliver in the Lincoln Heights Village shopping center.
Tickets can be purchased in-person, by phone at (316) 682-1181 or online through the link below.
