According to Yahoo News, The first ever physical Amazon bookstore opened this morning in Seattle, WA. With two decades of online book sales under its belt, Amazon’s new location in Seattle’s University Park hopes to combine the benefits of both online and offline shopping. The books carried in the store will be determined by each book’s online success based on sales, ratings and reviews. Titles in the store will be sold at the same prices as are listed on Amazon.com, which has raised questions of antitrust issues from other booksellers who market their books at the intended retail price. Customers to the Amazon bookstore are also able to shop Amazon devices such as Kindles, Fire TV, Fire Tablets and the Echo. Amazon has not yet announced whether it will be opening any other physical establishments in the near future.
