Wichita Pizza... Unchained
One of the most recognized pizza brands in the world was started right here in this very city, on the Wichita State Campus: Pizza Hut. Wichita is also home to many other great and unique pizza joints. If you decided to you want to unchain yourself from [insert mega corporate pizza chain here], here are a few great local pizza places for you to check out.

Knolla's Pizza
A long-time Wichita favorite, and known as the best pizza in town to many, Knolla's Pizza prides itself on providing freedom from corporate pizza. Knolla's serves both New York and Chicago style pizzas at its four locations across town. Knolla's is family-owned and all locations feature their own unique style and menu.
You can order your pizza by the slice or as a whole pie. They feature a great lunch special for $7.50 that includes a drink a salad and pretty large single piece of pizza.
If you're feeling really local, try the aptly named ICT Pizza. It features Bacon, BBQ, minced garlic, basil, beef, onions, sunflower seeds, parmesan cheese and a garlic butter crust. Knolla's also has a nice selection of sandwiches and desserts.
Piatto Neapolitan Pizzeria
To experience an authentic taste of Naples, Italy, stop by Piatto Neapolitan Pizzeria. Three hundred years of Italian tradition and technique are carefully applied to each pizza made at Piatto.
Featuring hand-selected ingredients, these pizzas are as close as possible to those made in Naples. Baked in an authentic, wood-fired brick oven, Piatto's pizzas are deliciously light and airy.

Angelo's

A long-time Wichita favorite, Angelo's Italian Restaurant has recently risen from the ashes. Angelo's serves up a great slice of pie. They make their food from scratch, using only fresh ingredients.
Angelo's originally opened in 1952 by Ann and Angelo Fasciano. It served Wichitan's delicious Italian cuisine for over 46 years before having to shut its doors in 2006. The restaurant re-opened early in 2016, and not a day too soon. This restaurant is known all over for serving delicious and authentic Italian food, but if there's one thing they're known for it's their pizza. They've even been known to take and ship orders over state lines, because even after moving from the Wichita area, people can't get enough of Angelo's! Word of warning: the deluxe pizza can take up to 40 minutes (or longer if they're busy) to make. Doesn't the saying go "you can't rush art"?
Avivo Brick Oven Pizzeria
Nestled amongst the shops of New Market Square, Avivo features an open kitchen alongside an elegant and functional dining area. Walking into Avivo, you feel as if you are walking onto an Italian patio with a cozy and relaxed atmosphere.
Avivo's menu features 16 specialty pizzas all made fresh and baked in a brick oven. Their pizzas cost around $8.50 each, but are filling enough to feed two people. If you happen to not be feeling pizza, they do also offer panini and pasta choices. Avivo is a great place for a quick bite or to relax and enjoy a meal with friends and family. They also feature a full bar and an outdoor patio.
Bob and Luigi's Pizza- Bel Aire

Self-proclaimed “pizza engineers”, Bob & Luigi’s Pizza in Bel Aire features 13 specialty pizzas and 16 toppings that you can combine to make your own. They make their own dough every day, and the crusts aren’t rolled out until your pizza is ordered.
Walking into Bob and Luigi's, you can tell the space was once a gas station, but that's okay because the no-frills dining experience means they get to concentrate on making your food delicious. With an 8-inch "mine" size pizza starting at $6.50 they are reasonably priced and if you need to feed your whole family an X-Large pizza is only $15.99. Also, this pizzeria often features live music performances.
Not in the mood for pizza? Bob and Luigi’s also offers pasta, calzones, sandwiches and salads. The cinnamon streusel dessert is a must-try.
Charlies Pizza Taco

Not your typical pizzeria, Charlie's PizzaTaco serves up specialty pizza-inspired dishes that are unique to say the least. Their claim to fame is the PizzaTaco. You guessed it, a pizza shaped like a taco... or maybe it's a taco that’s filled with pizza toppings? Confusing, but good. Charlie's is located in west Wichita near Central and Tyler.
They also feature a PizzaRaft which is Western European inspired flatbread pizza topped with smoked sausage and Bavarian kraut. Other pizza inspired dishes include a PizzaBurger which is a pizza in sandwich form and a PizzaPup which is a hot dog wrapped in pizza.
Charlie's also offers some take-and-bake items and a salad bar.
Picasso's Pizzeria

Picasso's Pizzeria serves up what are probably the biggest single slices in town. Located in the Delano District, Picasso's stays true to its New York-style inspiration. When ordering a single slice at Picasso's be prepared for the 13-inch long behemoth of a slice you'll get (for reference an entire large pizza at Pizza Hut is roughly 14 inches wide).
Need to feed a small army? Order up their massive 26-inch Pie. But note, you need to give them an hour heads up to do so. Walking into Picasso's with its exposed brick walls and an open kitchen, you feel like you stepped right into a pizzeria in New York City. Picasso’s is a great place to grab a quick lunch or a bite to eat before heading out on the town.
Talliano's - Derby

Located in Derby, Talliano's serves up traditional Italian style pizza. Featuring an all-day buffet as well as a delivery and carry out option, Talliano's has your pizza needs covered. The spacious interior makes this a great place for group events or for a dinner out with the family.
Want to make your own pie? Choose from 18 different toppings for your pizza on top of three different crust options and either Traditional Red Sauce or Italian White Sauce. Can't make up your mind? Try one of their specialty pizzas like Bacon Cheeseburger, BBQ Chicken, or their signature Talliano.
Wichita Brewing Company

Wichita Brewing Company has a commitment to good beer and good pizza. This is the only pizza joint on the list that is also a brewery and it's a very good one at that.
They serve up brick oven-style pizzas with a unique set of toppings, like hop infused pepperoni, for instance. WBC also has an east side location and they brew fresh beer over there, too. It’s a great place to take the family or enjoy a pint after work.

Wichita Pizza Company

You definitely get a sports bar vibe walking into Wichita Pizza Co., which is great. They have 8 HDTVs to catch the game on, a full bar and long list of specialty pizza's. This is a great place to come catch the game or bring the family for a night out. Offering up 27 House pizzas from plain cheese to spaghetti and meatball pizza (Yes, you read that right!), there is a pie for everyone. They also offer up 23 topping choices if you want to truely customize your pizza.
Craving something different? Wichita Pizza Co. offers up calzones, salads, hoagies, and pasta bowls.
Ziggy's Pizza

Nestled among the quaint shops of Clifton Square Village in College Hill, Ziggy's Pizza is a local favorite with a neighborhood feel. Serving thin crust, rectangular shaped pizzas, they offer specialty pizzas and a build-your-own option. They are generous with the toppings and everything has a fresh, homemade flavor. In addition to traditional toppings, you'll find some unique options on the menu such as cream cheese and refried beans (normally included on Mamacita's Taco Pizza). They also serve a number of appetizers, salads and desserts.
The Classic Ziggy is a popular choice. It includes pepperoni, Italian sausage, green peppers, onion, fresh mushrooms, black olives and marinara. If you're looking for something a little more exotic, try the White Delight, which has grilled chicken, smoked bacon, green pepper and onion on cream cheese, side of marinara.
Ziggy’s is cozy, with a patio larger than the indoor dining area. They have a full bar as well as local and craft beers on tap. Ziggy’s has a relaxed neighborly vibe, not common in Wichita. It's a great place to socialize over a pie.
