Great Plains Nature Center
With walking trails that wind throughout the scenic Chisholm Creek Park, the Great Plains Nature Center is an ideal place for a casual stroll.
The two-mile, paved trail system is free and open to the public, so you can visit regularly without spending a dime.
This option is great for nature-lovers! While you’re there, you’ll also have the opportunity to check out the interactive displays in the Nature Center for free, too!
As if the Arkansas River, itself, isn’t scenic enough you’ll also find the Keeper of the Plains Plaza, Veterans Memorial Park, Exploration Park, a troll under a bridge and more as you walk the paths along the river.
There are plenty of Pokemon to be caught along the river, too, if you’re into that kind of thing. There are also benches if you need to stop and rest, and mature trees offer shade in some areas along the way. A few mist-machines located in the Keeper of the Plains Plaza offer a great way to cool down during the summer months.
