Wichita's Senior Wednesdays

Wichita's Senior Wednesdays

Seniors are an integral part of Wichita's community. To show their appreciation, 12 area organizations have partnered to host a weekly "Senior Wednesdays" event. Sponsored in part by Larksfield Place, the program is designed specifically for active seniors and offers informational and entertaining sessions on varying subjects each week.

The program features a variety of unique and affordable sessions hosted by the partners: The Great Plains Nature Center, The Kansas African American Museum, Kansas Sports Hall of Fame, The Museum of World Treasures, Old Cowtown Museum, Sedgwick County Zoo, Ulrich Museum of Art, Water Center, Wichita Art Museum and the Wichita Public Library.

With programs highlighting topics like animals, history, and sports, the program’s partners allow participants in Senior Wednesdays to explore, discuss and enjoy events tailored to an abundance of interests.

The program follows a monthly routine with different venues hosting events on the first, second, third, fourth and fifth Wednesdays of each month. Many sessions are free to attend and those that aren’t cost just a few dollars, making the program affordable for everyone.
