Gems from the Mark Arts Oil Painting National Exhibition
East Wichita’s Mark Arts has recently been hosting a series of national themed exhibitions. The last was a large body of abstract work from across the country which together made a very strong case for the exceptional talents of Kansas and regional artists. This time, the case is made again at the Mark Arts Oil Painting National Exhibition where neo-classical approaches to portraiture, still-life, and landscapes shine the brightest. On display through Sept. 29th, featured here is a selection of some of the finest work from this varied and insightful exhibition. Next up is the Kansas Watercolor Society National Exhibition (Oct. 19th – Dec. 30th) where if these past couple shows are any indication, the case is more the rule.
