Fountains at the Waterwalk
If you're never seen the Waltzing Waters at the Fountains at the Waterwalk, you're missing out. The 110-foot-long fountains bring downtown more than just an attractive water feature. Located in the Waterwalk Plaza at 605 S. Wichita St., just east of Gander Mountain, the fountains put on an elaborate aquatic show featuring lights and music.
The Fountains at Waterwalk were installed in October of 2012 in order to support aesthetics and quality of life in downtown Wichita and as a way to encourage economic development near the riverfront.
Waltzing Waters Show
With a diverse blend of classical music, classic rock songs, country hits and 80s rock anthems, the Waltzing Waters show is tailored specifically to each song featured in its 10-15 minute shows.
With 1,200 custom designed and patented nozzles, the shows are designed by hand and stored for playback. with so many options combined with a rainbow of colors, the shows can be configured countless ways, so no two songs are programmed the same.
Operating on a whopping 27,000 horsepower, the Waltzing Waters show utilizes pumps that are capable of pumping over 22,000 gallons of water per minute. To put that into perspective, that's enough to empty an average sized swimming pool in under 45 seconds.

Waltzing Waters shows will take place at 8 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. Thursday-Sunday during the late spring, summer and early fall months. On Sundays, a show will also begin at noon.
The fountains will not operate if wind speeds exceed 15 miles per hour. Shows vary throughout the work week and the weekend, so check it out more than once for a new experience each time!
