Fireworks For a Cause
This time of year, buying fireworks is just a part of life. It’s inevitable. You know you’re going to them buy and so do I. Maybe you’ve even set aside a budget specifically for fireworks. The point is, it’s no surprise that at some point within the next few days, you’ll be out shopping for explosives in hopes of impressing the kids and outdoing your neighbors.
What might come as a surprise, however is the fact that many of the fireworks tents that have popped up around town over the past week or so actually donate a percentage of their proceeds to a cause. So, if you’re going to be buying fireworks anyway, (Which we’ve already established that you are) why not take the opportunity to support a local church, school or sports team? Here’s a look at some fireworks tents around town and the causes that they benefit.
Clearwater Cheerleading Squad
The proceeds from this TNT Fireworks tent on north Rock Road will benefit the Clearwarter Cheer Squad. Funding the purchase of things like pom pons, uniforms and other necessary items, the tent is open through July 4.
This tent is located in the parking lot of Walmart on the east side of Rock Road just south of K96.
This location is open from 12 p.m. until 12 a.m. daily until the 4th. Great deals are available here, like free fireworks with the purchase of specific products and a military discount is also available.

Derby Hills Elementary
Located on Rock Road just north of 63rd Street, this tent is the largest of those we visited. Proceeds from this Farha's Block Buster Fireworks tent will benefit derby Hills Elementary School.
This tent has an impressive supply and a wide variety of assortment packages. Open through July 4, this is a great option for those Derby or the McConnell area.

St. Matthew Christian Methodist Episcopal Church Youth trip to Memphis, TN

A portion of the funds generated by this TNT Fireworks tent will benefit the youth of St. Matthew Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, funding a trip to the CYF Youth conference in Memphis, Tennessee.
This tent is open from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. through July 4, and is located on east Pawnee in the parking lot of the Walmart at Pawnee and Broadway.
A military discount is available, and free fireworks will be given with the purchase of select products.
Visitors at this tent can also enter to win an American Pride assortment package, valued at $150.
South Rock Christian Church
This Boomtown Discount Fireworks tent located on 63rd Street (Patriot Avenue,) in Derby, benefits South Rock Christian Church.
This is one of the biggest tents we visited, and it offers a wide variety of fireworks.
Buy one, get one free deals are available on certain fireworks, and credit cards are accepted.
5, 6, 7, 8 Dance
This tent is also located in Derby on 63rd Street (Patriot.) A portion of proceeds will benefit competitive dancers in the Wichita area who are involved with 5, 6, 7, 8 Dance.
Competitive dance can be very expensive as it involves travel, costumes and competition fees. This location accepts Visa and Mastercard.
You can also contribute to the One Spark Foundation at this location. By purchasing a One Spark firework at checkout, you can help the the foundation as it seeks to stop sex trafficking, provide outreach programs for the homeless and more .
Shiloh Pentecostal Church
Located in the parking lot of Haysville's Shiloh Pentecostal Church, the Kaboomer's 1/2 Price Fireworks tent serves to raise funds for the church.
You'll find great deals here, and a lot of options. This tent highlights a great mix of smaller fireworks (like snakes, poppers and sparklers) and bigger products.
If you're interested in giving back to a local church, this is a great opportunity, and you'll get a lot of bang for your buck!
This location is open now through July 4.
St. Mary's Parish of Derby
Located on Rock Road in Derby, just south of 63rd (Patriot), this tent benefits St. Mary's Parish of Derby.
Check it out between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. through July 2.
On July 3 and 4, the tent will offer an extra hour, remaining open from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. This way, last-minute shoppers can enjoy a little extra time to look around.
One of the larger tents in the Wichita area, the St. Mary's location offers several great deals.
LDS Church
Wichita's LDS Church will receive a percentage of the proceeds of this TNT Fireworks tent, located on east Kellogg in the Walmart parking lot.
One noteworthy feature of this tent is its assortment of, well, assortments. Several large variety packs are available here.
Stop by this tent between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. between now and July 4.
TNT Fireworks locations offer military discounts and free fireworks with the purchase of specific products.
Various Organizations
This TNT Fireworks Tent is conveniently located in front of Walmart at New Market Square. Staff at this tent told us that proceeds will benefit a few different organizations, though they were not specified.
If you're in the New Market area, this is great place to pick up your fireworks. As a TNT Fireworks stand, free fireworks will be available with the purchase of specific products and a military discount is available.
This location is open from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Thursday; 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday; from 8 a.m. until 12 a.m. on Monday; and will also remain open on July 5.
Wichita Gators Youth Football
Show your support for the Wichita Gators Football team by purchasing your fireworks at this tent located on east Pawnee in front on Dollar General.
This tent is one of many Wholesale Fireworks locations in and around Wichita. Wholesale offers both fireworks tent locations and air-conditioned buildings to shop in.
