Final Friday Artist Spotlight: Corbie Leiker
Wichita has a bustling and vibrant art community. The most public and widely attended event for this community is the Final Friday art crawl. As the name suggests it is held on the Final Friday of every month. Downtown museums, art galleries, restaurants and businesses all open their doors to welcome visitors eager to view the local art on display. This month's Final Friday will fall on September 30th. Corbie Leiker

An artist originally from Kansas City Kansas, Corbie Leiker currently resides in Wichita, Kansas. Her primary medium is charcoal in which she creates large scale drawings. She has studied with New York artist’s Hugo Bastidas and Michelle Doll. Leiker has completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in Drawing and Painting and a minor in Psychology. As a recipient of the Koch Cultural Trust Artist Grant she more recently attended a Drawing Marathon with artist Graham Nickson at the New York Studio School in January of 2015. She is an Education Coordinator at the Wichita Art Museum as well as an instructor at Wichita Center for the Arts. She has been instructing youth art classes for about three years and has recently began teaching adult classes as well. Her work has been featured in group exhibitions as well as juried exhibitions in Kansas and Colorado and Oklahoma.
