Where to Donate Duplicate Gifts

Donating Duplicate Gifts

It’s the season of giving, so you’re bound to do a little bit of receiving in return, right? If you receive a gift (or a few gifts) that you don’t need or that are duplicates, consider donating them before returning them to the store. If you’d like to continue to give back, here are a few places where you can donate!

Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County

The Child Advocacy Center Sedgwick County works with children who have been the victims of neglect, abuse and trafficking. Benefiting thousands of local children and their families over the years, the CACSC is always accepting donations.

Now through December 30, Reddi Industries hosts a toy drive  that will benefit the CACSC. Accepting small toys like Barbies, Legos, action figures and sports balls as well as individually packaged snacks such as Cheez-its, peanut butter crackers, fruit snacks and animal crackers, the drive is a great way to use duplicate gifts to give back to the community! Donation drop off locations are RSM Marketing Services a 400 S. Commerce and Reddi Industries at 3901 N. Broadway. Learn more here.

Wichita Childrens’ Home

The Wichita Childrens’ home provides for children and young adults from infancy to the early 20’s, and supplies are always needed. From clothes, hairbrushes and toothpaste to toys games and movies, the Wichita Childrens' Home accepts a wide variety of donation items. A wishlist is available on the home’s website. Donations can be dropped off on location at the Wichita Childrens' Home at 7271 E. 37th St. N., Wichita, KS.

Toys for Tots Wichita

A nationwide program run by the United States Marine Corps,  Toys for Tots has collected and distributed more than 243,250,000 toys over the years. The goal of Toys for Tots is to provide Christmas presents to local children in need. This year, the program served an estimated 6,000 children in the Wichita area. This holiday season’s donation locations are Babies R Us near Towne West or Toys R Us at Kellogg and Rock. After the holidays, if you have toys you would like to donate, you can contact the Wichita Toys for Tots coordinator, Gunnery Sergeant Joshua Diemler, here.

Salvation Army

You’ve seen the bell-ringers taking donations outside of Dillon’s, right? That money benefits the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army offers a wide variety of support programs for adults, children and families. Among the services the Salvation Army offers are prison ministries, adult rehabilitation, hunger relief, housing and homeless services, Christmas assistance and more. Accepted item donations range from clothing, furniture and household items to cars. If you have new or used items you would like to donate to the Salvation Army, find a dropoff location or schedule a free pickup here.
