Craft Beer Week

Local beer is a large part of Wichita’s culture. Home to a variety of locally owned and operated breweries and special events like Midwest Beerfest and the Air Capital Bacon and Beer Festival, Wichita is a perfect place for craft beer enthusiasts.
With a craft beer culture that's exploded in the past few years, where better than Wichita to celebrate Craft Beer Week? The whole week of May 15th is dedicated to celebrating, well, craft beer! What is craft beer? It's pretty simple. Craft beer is beer that is brewed locally by small breweries, and it offers a variety of unique and creative flavors. Craft Beer Week is a time to enjoy and share some of the best drinks around, celebrate the craft beer community and learn about local brews. It's also a great opportunity for local breweries to connect with their fans. So what are you waiting for? Get in on the excitement by visiting Wichita’s breweries and beer-themed events.
Hopping Gnome Brewing Company
Featuring six beers on tap, the Hopping Gnome Brewing Company offers a variety of flavors. You'll find several American, Belgian, British, German and Seasonal style ales at the Gnome. The small taproom features a beer-focused atmosphere, and a mission to brew craft beers with high quality ingredients.
The local growler filling, pint serving and keg distributing microbrewery and taproom is a great place to celebrate Craft Beer Week. Guests can order in pizza or enjoy a delicious meal from one of Wichita's various food trucks parked out front to give you something tasty to snack on while you enjoy your brew. Hopping Gnome Brewing Company is located in the heart of the Douglas Design District, at 1710 E Douglas.
Central Standard Brewing

Central Standard Brewing also features six beers on tap. Officially opening in the fall of 2014, CSB is Wichita's newest Brewery, specializing in Barrel Aged, Belgian, IPA, seasonal, sour and wild/brett beer, Central Standard has a brew for every taste.
The local Brewery seeks to provide experiences that are flavorful, creative, and interesting. A welcomed addition to Wichita's family of Breweries, Central Standard is located at 156 S. Greenwood. At Central, the brewers are passionate about their work, and they love to talk about what they do, so don't be afraid to ask questions. You can even get a tour of the brewery!
Bricktown Brewery

Bricktown Brewery is all about local beer and local flavor. Although the location doesn't brew its beer on site, it does brew less than three hours away from the restaurant, which is still pretty impressive. The restaurant and brewery features a wide variety of local brews from across the state of Kansas.
With eight of their own beers on tap as well as many others, Bricktown Brewery offers a large selection of drink options. Bricktown takes local flavor a step further, sourcing all of the black Angus beef used in their burgers from within the state. Bricktown Brewery serves Wichita from two locations. Bricktown can be found at 2035 N. Rock Road in east Wichita, or at 2142 N. Tyler on Wichita's west side.
Old Chicago

Old Chicago offers 110 beers from around the world, plus a full bar. Talk about variety! With one of the best beer selections in town, Old Chicago is a great place to visit during Craft Beer Week. You'll never run out of new drinks to try! Pair your drink with one if the Chicago style pizzas that the restaurant us known for, and you're in for a great meal!
Old Chicago is open during lunch and dinner, and even late at night (until 2 a.m. daily!) The restaurant also features several TVs and has multiple sports packages, so you don't have to worry about missing the game when you visit. Old Chicago is located on both the east and west sides of Wichita and in Old Town.
Wichita Brewing Company

Boasting a whopping 14 beers on tap, the Wichita Brewing Company has a selection to keep you coming back. The restaurant and brewery offers a diverse selection to please any pallet. Enjoy a pint of you of your favorite brew and grab a brick oven style pizza while you're at it.
In addition to offering a variety of great local brews, the Wichita Brewing Company is famous for its pizza, which is great for pairing. What kind of great pairing can you come up with? There's only one way to find out. The Wichita Brewing Company can be found at 8815 W 13th St. on the west side, or at 535 N. Woodlawn on the east side.
Granite City

Granite City features up to five beers on tap and highlights on-site breweries where beers are fermented in-house at each of the restaurant's locations. In addition to its delicious microbrewed beers, Granite City highlights a full service bar. Granite City also offers a variety of specialty and seasonal craft beers that are made on site, offering a local touch to some already unique drink options.
Granite City offers two locations in Wichita, and can be found at 2244 N Webb Road in east Wichita, or at 2661 N. Maize Road in west Wichita. Come in during Craft Beer Week and find out what Granite City has to offer! Granite City is open from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, from 11 a.m. until 12 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Sundays.
River City Brewing Company

One of the city's oldest brew pubs, River City Brewing Company offers 16 beers on tap. Among these are six different microbrews and a constantly rotating selection of seasonal beers to choose from. The River City Brewing Company was founded in 1993, and has been a staple in Wichita's oldtown ever since. This brewery can be found in its oldtown location at 150 N. Mosley Street, or in the recently opened location in the new terminal at the Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport. In addition to a variety of great beers to try, River City Brewing Company offers some great food. Be sure to try your hand at pairing when you order your meal!
River City is open from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, 11 a.m. until 12 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sundays.
BJ's Brewhouse

BJ's Brewhouse offers 11 always-on-tap beers, as well as a variety of seasonal beers. If you just can't get enough of Craft Beer Week, you're in luck. On Monday, May 23 at 7 p.m., BJ's Brewhouse will offer a special beer dinner. For just $35 in advance and $40 the day of, you can come in and enjoy a four course meal where each course is paired with the perfect beer. The first course will be root beer glazed ribs, followed by a second course Santa Fe Salad. Up next is a shrimp and asparagus panini, and finally, the triple chocolate Pizookie. Celebrate your love of food and beer at the BJ's Brewhouse beer dinner.
Midwest Beerfest

Wichita’s 17th annual Midwest Beerfest will take place on May 19-20 in Century II's Expo Hall. Featuring the largest beer selection of any beer event in the Midwest, Mid West Beerfest will highlight brews from more than 80 breweries across the country! On May 19, Beerfest will offer three beer dinners, to be held at Larkspur, DoubleTree by Hilton and the Wichita Marriott. Beer dinners will begin at 7 p.m. and cost $55 per person. Space is limited. The Event also offers an auction, vendors, food, fun and more, so check it out.
