Cool Wichita Murals

Wichita's culture has a strong emphasis on art. Home to the Wichita Art Museum, the Ulrich Museum of Art and over a dozen local galleries, the city offers a variety of opportunities to view one-of-a-kind masterpieces. In addition to these options, Wichita boasts a truly unique way to see some really cool and unique works of art—just take a drive around town! Wichita has over 20 outdoor murals decorating its buildings. Take a look at a few of our favorites below!

"If You Know Where To Look" - this mural is located on the back of Dempsey's Burger Pub in Clifton Square


This mural located on W 22nd Street and Arkansas promotes diversity. Inscribed "In Diversity There is Beauty and there is strength"


"Wichita Flag", this smiling mural can be seen driving south on Hillside from Douglas


This mural is located at 100 E. 21st Street, at the intersection of 21st and Park Place. Depicting the beauty of immigration, this mural gives a nod to Wichita's diverse culture.


The entire exterior of Orion'z Smoke Shop, located at Seneca and Harry, is a work of art. Featuring well known characters from "Alice in Wonderland," Kang and Kodos from "The Simpsons" a cool galaxy background and more, this building is quite a sight to see.


Located on the west side of Idle Hands Tattoo and Piercing at Douglas and Walnut, this mural brings a bright splash of color to downtown.


Also located at AquaBlast Laundromat, this mural is on the back of the building and features a whale, and a yellow submarine that is very reminiscent of the 1966 hit Beatles song of the same name.


"Mead Crossing the Arkansas" Located just north of the intersection at Douglas and Cleveland, this mural shows true Wichita spirit, as it depicts both the Wichita skyline and the Wichita flag.


This mural depicting dragons, planets, and more can be found at Douglas and Minnneapolis, on the east side on the Logan St. Fine Wood Products building.


This mural is arguably one of the most recognizable, as it is located in the parking lot of the popular wichita location, the Donut Whole. The mural sits on the west side of the neighboring All Transmission Parts building.


Located at on the northeast corner of Douglas and Hydraulic, M&M Auto Insurance features an exterior wall (facing Hydraulic) that features a variety of murals.


Located at the southeast corner of Douglas and Ida, this mural is located on the west side of the Anchor, and can be seen when driving East down Douglas.


This mural takes its own advice, as it makes Wichita beautiful. Located just north of the intersection at Douglas and Ida, this mural features brilliantly colored flowers and a nod the integral role that biking plays in our community.


This mural can be found on the side of the Douglas Photographic Imaging Company building, located on the northeast corner of Douglas and Spruce.


This mosaic tile piece is located on the front of the Abode Venue at Douglas and Matthewson. The piece faces Douglas, and can be seen by cars driving by.


This mural is located on the front of Watermark Books and Cafe in Lincoln Heights Village. The mural faces east, and sits on the southwest corner of Douglas and Oliver.


This mural decorates the west side of the Second Story Thrifty Resale Boutique located ad Douglas and Grove. The fashionable woman clad in a floral hat, serves as an eye-catching advertisement for the shop.


This brightly colored mural covers the entire east side of Margarita's Cantina on the southwest corner of Douglas and Hillside. The mexican restaurant pays tribute to it's culture with this mural.


Also on the southwest corner of Douglas and Hillside, the College Hill Barber and Beauty Shop features this mural of a well-groomed man on its east wall.


The Keeper, the Wichita flag, and...the tardis? Check it out on the northeast corner of Douglas and Spruce.


This mural decorates what was once a storefront window. It is located on Douglas and faces south.


This colorful mural adorns east side of the Logan Street Fine Wood Products building.


Next time you're at the Donut Whole, check out this mural, located on the east side of the building.


This mural, which depicts two peace signs, promotes Deafkan.org (painted down the left side of the mural.) It's located on a fence on the southeast corner of Douglas and Hydraulic in the Jimmie's Egg parking lot.


"A sight amazingly odd to see," this mural decorates the east side of Artist at Large Tattoo on the southwest side of the Douglas and Laura intersection.


This mural is located at Artist at Large Tattoo on the southwest side of the Douglas and Laura intersection.


This mural of the Wichita flag can be found facing west at the southeast corner of Douglas and Kansas.
