National Taco Day
Tacos are undoubtedly one of mankind's greatest achievements. A food rich in history, older in fact than sliced bread... perhaps the best thing before sliced bread. A versatile hand held treat with endless combinations that has brought joy to the world for generations. Today we celebrate the taco's glory. October 4, is National Taco Day.

Bourbon Street Sports Bar & Grill
Bourbon Street Sports Bar and Grill features 99¢ fried flour tacos every Tuesday. All of Bourbon Street's food is handmade from scratch and "tastes like it came straight from your mama's kitchen." If you're looking to have some fun they also feature soft tip dart boards, pool tables, a large outdoor patio, and a sand volleyball court.
Deano's Grill and Tapworks

Deano’s features excellent tacos with your choice of fish, shrimp, steak or chicken and a side of tasty shoestring onions. You can catch a game on any of Deano's 23" big screen TV's and wash down those tacos with any of the 23 beers they have on tap or one of their great signature cocktails.
District Taqueria

Nestled on the edge of Old Town along Douglas, District Taqueria is known for their street-style tacos with an extra twist. The menu offers an assortment of flavor-packed taco options, so make sure to try a few. They also serve up tasty queso and have a full bar to wash everything down.
El Mexico Cafe
Locally owned and operated for 45 years, El Mexico Cafe on south Seneca serves up some of the best Mexican food in town. Ruben's Mexican Grill
Ruben's Mexican Grill in Delano is just the place to go when you're in the mood for fresher, lighter Mexican food in a great atmosphere. At Ruben's, you'll find great service in a relaxed atmosphere. Located right in the heart of the Delano district on Douglas, we're an easy drive from anywhere in Wichita but especially convenient to Downtown and Old Town.

One of Wichita's largest pool halls Side Pockets Sports Bar, offesr 4 beef tacos for $5.95. If you want to catch a game while you chow down than great news, they have 19 flat screen televisions, and 3 12ft. HD projectors. And in between tacos you can keep yourself entertained by playing on any of there 6 big, professional 9ft pool tables and 17 regular bar tables. South Rock Billiards

Southrock Billiards Sports Bar & Grill offers a great Taco Tuesday special of two Large Flour Tacos with Chips for $3.95. Also this tuesday Southrock will feature, a mini 8-Ball Tournament and Absolut Vodka drinks $4.50 (Did we mention it's also national vodka day?) They offer Happy hour is twice every day from 6pm-7pm & 9pm-10pm. Relax, have a drink, eat some tacos, and play pool. Southrock Billiards also offers free pool from 2pm to 5pm.
Taqueria El Fagon

Featured on our Wichita's Best Holes in the Wall article, Taqueria El Fogon is a hidden gem on in southeast Wichita. If you want authentic street tacos, El Fogon is the spot for you. They also have great tortas and horchata. They also have seven different tacos to choose from, but choosing can hard so might as well get them all.ll.

One of Wichita's favorite food trucks recently opened a taqueria. Uno mas serves up gourmet street tacos with a modern twist. Guests can choose their own tortilla type, filling, and salsa 'heat' level. Whether you go with tacos al pastor, carnitas, or one of their specials like bang bang shrimp you'll definitely be saying “uno mas, por favor.”
Cactus Cantina
Located on South Hydraulic, Cactus Cantina is one of the best dining experiences in Wichita not just for tacos, but for amazing margaritas and queso as well. The owner Daniel is awesome and always does his best to make you feel at home and taken care of. It might be out of your way, but make your way down to Cactus Cantina soon. You won’t regret it.
Connie’s Mexico Cafe
Connie’s has been a Wichita staple for decades and it’s easy to see why they have stood the test of time - great, authentic food. They have many taco plates to choose from as well as a lot of unique Mexican dishes you won’t find anywhere else. Located on North Broadway, it’s worth the trip to discover what Connie’s is all about.
El Patio Restaurant
Another long-standing authentic Wichita Mexican food tradition is El Patio Restaurant located on East Central. People rave about the excellent service and great prices, but you need to try their tacos - particularly the puffy tacos. If you like great food in a small, cozy environment, hit up El Patio soon.
Fuzzy’s Taco Shop
Fuzzy’s is the latest addition to Wichita’s taco landscape, and judging by the taste - a most welcome addition. Fuzzy’s is a Tex-Mex chain you might have seen in other regional cities, serving Baja-style food at reasonable prices. Located on Rock Rd, they have a full bar onsite as well and plan to open more locations in Wichita in the future.
