Get into Nature at Sedgwick County Zoo, March 19

The Sedgwick County Zoo's monthly family event Get Into Nature is this Saturday! Get Into Nature is led by zoo staff, and features both structured and nonstructured nature play time that's great for all ages. This month, take a look at How The Wind Blows Meet! If you're ready to learn some exciting new things about nature, bring the kids out to the zoo and prepare for a good time! All participating children must be accompanied by an adult. There is no cost to attend the event, but space is limited, so be sure to pre-register for the program! This event has been made possible by a generous grant from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and Disney. The event will run from 10 a.m. until 11:30 p.m., and will be held in the Cargill Learning Center at Sedgwick County Zoo.
Thunder Hockey vs. Missouri Mavericks, March 19, 20

Com out and cheer on the Wichita Thunder hockey team this weekend as the go head to head with the Missouri Mavericks at Intrust Bank Arena.
On Saturday, it's Fight Cancer Night presented by RACE Charities, and specialty jersey night. So come out and support the cause. If you can't get enough of the Thunder, come back for the game on Sunday. This time it's Allstate Buy-In night.
Ticket Prices for the event vary, and the games begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Bunny Blast and Easter Egg Hunt at O.J. Watson Park , March 19

Get into the holiday spirit with the annual Bunny Blast and Egg Hunt at O.J. Watson Park. On March 19, children can hunt for Easter baskets all over the park! Photos Easter Bunny will also be available for a small fee. Guests are encouraged to bring their own cameras and Easter baskets, so make sure you're prepared to capture as any memories (and Easter eggs!) as you can! The Bunny Blast and Egg Hunt event features not only an egg hunt, but also inflatables, miniature golf, touch-a-truck and even more for kids to enjoy! Barry the Bison, mascot of Wichita Parks and Recreation, will make an appearance at the event, so keep an eye out for him!
Admission to this event is $5 per carload, and the fun begins at 10 a.m., so load up the family and head out for a day of festive fun!
Blues and Barbecue at Crown Uptown, March 19

Catch Moreland and Arbuckle live at the Crown Uptown this weekend! Joined by Hamilton Loomis and Lauren Anderson, the evening highlights great music, but that's not all! Catered by Pig in Pig out, there will also be some great barbecue to enjoy. Add a performance by Wichita's own comedian Dan The Man and a silent auction, and you've got a great evening at Crown Uptown, and it's for a great cause! Blues and Barbecue benefits the Boy Scouts of America. The event runs from 5:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. on March 19. Admission is $50 per person for VIP seating and $30 for general admission. Military discounts are available.
Kidgits Easter Eggstravaganza at Towne East, March 19

Celebrate the arrival of spring and hang out with the Easter Bunny at Towne East Square's Kidgits Club Easter Eggstravaganza! kids can dance the bunny hop, have their faces painted, enjoy balloon animals, make crafts, and more! There's also a chance to win one of two family fun packs, which include four tickets to see Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood at the Orpheum on April 13! The event is free for Simon Kidgits Club members. To become a kidgits club member, you can sign up on the Simon website at no cost! The event will run from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on March 19, and will be held on the lower level of the mall, in front of Sears.
Kevin Harrison: Words and Music at Abode Venue, March 20

On Sunday March 20, Don't miss out on Words and Music at the Abode Venue! Abode hosts artist Kevin Harrison who is scheduled to perform from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The event is a fundraiser for Beau Amare' Holt, and admission to the event is $ 20 per person. The Abode Venue is located at 1330 E. Douglas Ave.
Meet the Breeds at Century II, March 20

Dog lovers are in luck! This weekend, Century II will host the 6th annual Meet The Breeds event, at which representatives from 20 to 25 area dog kennels and training clubs will answer questions. They're even bringing their dogs! Hosted by the Wichita Kennel Club, the event runs from Noon - 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 20 in the Concert Hall Foyer.
“We will have over 20 breeds to look at and owners and breeders will be on hand to answer questions,” said Mike Williams, President of The Wichita Kennel Club. “It's a great opportunity for folks to come out and gather information on a particular breed they might be interested in. Dogs are not just pets. They become family members and become lifelong friends,” he said.
The event is free and open to the public, so come out and make some new furry friends!
Food Trucks at the Fountain, March 20

Catch some of Wichita's food trucks at Food Trucks at the Fountain! Get ready for a day of yoga, live music and lots of food, because that's just what you'll find at the WaterWalk on Saturday. At 10 a.m., the day kicks off with a 90 minute class led by Satva Moon Yoga at the corner of Main and Waterman. The class is donation-based, and proceeds will go to the Kansas Humane Society.
From 11:30 until 2 p.m. listen to some live music while you grab food from Wichita's food trucks! The following trucks will be present: B.S. Sandwich Press, The Brown Box Bakery, Brickhouse BBQ, Big Chill Ice Cream, Bade Truck, Charlie's Pizza Taco Wichita, Chino's Parrilla - Food on the go, Funky Monkey Munchies,Funky Monkeys Shaved Ice, Garden of Eatin', The Kamayan Truck, Kind Kravings, Kona Ice NW Wichita, Let'm Eat Bräts, Lil'Bit Gourmet Burgers, Lynn's Curbside Cookout, Noble House Hawaiian Plate Lunch, RT's Hog Pit, Sunflower Espresso Wichita, Township Mobile Cafe, & The Flying Stove.
Shamrock Scramble at Auburn Hills, March 20

Golfers can extend their St. Patrick's Day celebrations a few days by participating in Auburn Hills Golf Course's Shamrock Scramble! The third annual shotgun tournament will be held on March 20 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., and will feature teams of four and a scramble format. The event will begin with a warm up session on the driving range followed bu the tournament. Enjoy green beer and eat lunch with your team while you play! And no tournament would be complete without prizes! Admission is $80 per golfer.
