Tallgrass Film Festival, through October 16

The 14th annual Tallgrass Film Festival wraps up this weekend! The independent film festival will screen 194 films from 33 countries this year, so don't miss out.
Featuring galas and educational opportunities in addition to film screenings, there are plenty of options to keep you entertained all weekend long! With general admission priced at $10 and Saturday binge passes priced at $50, Tallgrass is a great value.

Wichita Zombie Shoot, October 14, 15, 16

Zombies are invading, and it's up to you to defend the city! At Wichita Zombie Shoot, passengers climb aboard buses equipped with mounted paintball guns. The passengers must work together to fight off the zombies trying to attack the bus! Travel through several zombie-infested scenes and give it your best shot!

Time Eddy II Dr. Who Convention at Best Western Wichita North, October 14-16

Museum of the Undead 4: The Institute of Undead Research at Exploration Place, October 14

Can you get to the bottom of the ZMB1 virus without being infected? At Exploration Place's Museum of the Undead 4: The Institute of Undead Research, guests will attempt to cure the infection through activities like playing miniature golf through a human cell, firing a cannon at zombies, experiencing a zombie dissection and more.
Tickets include one drink ticket and access to all museum exhibits. This event is for ages 21 and over.

Parade of Homes, October 15, 16

This weekend marks the last of the 2016 Fall Parade of Homes, so check it out while you can! From noon to 6 p.m. on Oct. 15-16, walk through open houses of new constructions by some of the area's best builders. The Parade features homes in Wichita and surrounding communities like Derby, Andover, Goddard, Maize and more. Parade of Homes magazines are available at local grocery stores.

Thunder Hockey Season Opener and Block Party, Intrust Bank Arena, October 15

The Wichita Thunder hockey team opens its 25th anniversary season on Saturday, Oct. 15. Come out and cheer on the Thunder as they go head-to-head with the Tulsa Oilers!

AIGA GUTS Creative Carving Wishes at the Alley, October 15

The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Wichita hosts a live, 90-minute pumpkin carving competition on Saturday. All creative students and professionals are invited to participate in the competition, and the event is open to the public! If you're planning to compete, remember to bring your own pumpkin! All proceeds from the event will support Make-A-Wish Kansas.

Monkey Butt Poker Run at Sedgwick County Zoo, October 15

Once again, the Sedgwick County Zoo will host Monkey Butt Poker Run. Covering 100miles in one day, it';s going to be a crazy bike ride! Beginning with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, the event offers a full day of fun. The ride will begin at 10 a.m., including stops at Alefs Harley-Davidson in Park City; the Andale City Park; The Second Table Café in Yoder; a location in Cheney and the Zoo! Participants will work to build the best poker hand as they ride, and prizes will be awarded.
Registration includes one poker card, t-shirt, and breakfast for one.

Blondes vs Brunettes 2016 at Hartman Arena, October 15

Hartman Arena's Blondes vs. Brunettes flag football game tests the age-old rivalry between blondes in brunettes. Divided into teams based on their hair color, the women will compete to win. The fundraising event serves to raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer's Association.
