Light Up Reflection Square: Wichita Parks and Rec Reactivates Park
Wichita Park & Recreation received a grant from the Wichita Community Foundation – Up the Ambition. This grant provided an opportunity to reactivate Reflection Square Park located in downtown Wichita with new LED laser lighting that twinkles around the water feature and added lighting to highlight the existing sculptures and painting of the existing table and chairs. Currently, the trees have darkened this park making it feel dark and unwelcoming. With shaping up the trees and adding the new lighting, this park is now not only inviting to those who visit downtown but as to those who are living in nearby apartments.
The grant also helped support new programming for the park, three events will take place later this week with the theme, Light up Reflection Square. These events are free and open to the public and for all ages.
