About Lady Laughs
Lady Laughs Comedy is an organization dedicated to fostering women in the comedic arts by creating opportunities to showcase talented women with a dedication to LGBTQ+ and inter-sectional inclusivity. To normalize safe spaces for women to perform and the audience to be entertained through a shared experience. To establish the truth about women in comedy: that women ARE talented, brilliant and most importantly, FUNNY.
Founded by Dina Nina Martinez who was called "Very Funny" by The Late Late Show's James Corden and one of the 40 Hot Queer Women in Comedy by AfterEllen. Co-Producer Helen Reicher brings her comedic expertise and dedication to women in comedy to create this unique even in Wichita, KS.
Pussy Bros. is a Denver comedy power group founded by Christie Buchele, Janae Burris, Rachel Weeks, and the late Jordan Wieleba. Christie Buchele is an up-and-coming stand up comic from Denver, Colorado. Christie made a name for herself by being a frequent and popular contributor at the city’s plethora of open mics, but has recently gained wider attention at a variety of contests and festivals. She placed third in Comedy Works’ illustrious New Faces Competition in 2013 and has performed at both the Crom Comedy Festival in Omaha, Nebraska and Denver’s High Plains Comedy Festival. Christie co-hosts a humorous relationship advice podcast called Empty Girlfriend, and reps the Mile High City hard while crushing audiences with a wry, biting style that’s a bit sweet, a bit surly, and really, really funny.
Rachel Weeks is a Denver-based comedian and writer from the western suburbs of Chicago. She is a regular performer at Comedy Works and placed third in the 2016 New Faces contest. She has appeared on Hidden America with Jonah Ray and the RISK! podcast. She produces the Denver chapter of Chicago storytelling favorite We Still Like You and has been featured on High Plains, Orlando Indie, Crom, and Beast Village comedy festivals.
Kristine Levine is a stand-up comedian and Radio Personality originally from Portland, Oregon and newly transplanted to Tucson, Arizona. In addition to regularly touring both stateside and abroad, Kristine has lived in Egypt, served as a radio DJ, Air Talent and Producer, boasts numerous commercials and voiceovers to her name, was seen in feature stand-up documentary The Unbookables and has appeared in multiple sketches throughout each season of IFC’s Peabody and Emmy Award-winning Portlandia. As a comedian, her refreshing candor and unflinching, twisted perspectives on life, love, and dysfunction have earned her a reputation as a biting, brutal cross between Lenny Bruce and Roseanne Barr. Yet underneath her “shocking” exterior, Kristine is as genuine and disarming in real life as she is for a rollicking hour onstage. Simultaneously empowering and endearing, she gleefully plunders uncharted stand-up territory as a sweetly ambivalent every gal who women fear yet are inexplicably drawn to and who men fear yet are inexplicably drawn to.
