The 4th of July is almost here! It’s a day full of good food, great company and lots of fireworks (Even though a lot of people started the fireworks a little early this year)! Besides a day off from work, the 4th of July is also a date in history that is very important to our country. On July 4th, 1776, the United States declared independence from Great Britain so it’s a day we should all be thankful for!
There are several things going on around town to do for the 4th of July!
The Sedgwick County Zoo is always a great place for families and from July 4th-6th there is an event going on called “Red, White and You.” This event is a blood drive for the Red Cross and every person who donates gets free admission into the zoo!
For a more laid-back, relaxing day, Newport Grill is celebrating America with dinner on the patio, smooth jazz music and a fireworks display!
All Star Sports is honoring current and retired Military on July 4th with a free “Pick Three” attraction pass. Any combination of these single attractions:
West – 18 holes of mini golf, go-kart ride, laser tag session, Rock Climbing Wall admission or bumper boats.
East – 18 holes of mini golf, go-kart ride, bumper car ride or bumper boats.
Be safe and have happy 4th of July!
