Back to the Future: Today's "Futuristic" Technology
The day Marty McFly travels to in “Back to the Future II” is finally here. In the film, McFly travels to Oct. 21, 2015 to save his children from sending their own lives down a dismal path. The film made some interesting predictions about what 2015 would look like. Here's a look at how closely those predictions line up with what we've accomplished.
3D Movies
Not quite to the effect that McFly encounters, but the 3D movie experience got a boost in Wichita in 2010 when the Warren West opened its World Class IMAX

Cubs Winning the World Series
The movie predicted the Cubs winning the world series. Surprisingly enough, they are still in the running. Their Game tonight vs. the New York Mets will help to decide that.

Hoverboards
In an intense chase scene, McFly jumps on a hoverboard to evade Biff and his goons. We actually have hoverboards of sorts today, one that actually hovers called the Hendo Hoverboard. Another wheeled version with the name hoverboard360 has garnered a lot attention as of late.

Self-lacing Shoes
A nifty fashion statement portrayed on the film these aren't a widespread thing yet, however Nike is supposedly working on them.

VR Headsets
We have plenty of these, with models such as Oculus, Google Glass and Microsoft's HoloLens. All of these are eerily similar, if not more advanced, than what the film portrayed.
