Wichita Force Indoor Football Starts New Season

What could be better than football and family on a Saturday night? Nothing! The Wichita Force football team is back in action this year and excited for a chance at bringing another indoor football championship to Wichita!

Who Is The Wichita Force

Who Is The Wichita Force

Calling Intrust Bank Arena home, the Wichita Force is a professional indoor football team that was formed in 2014. They are original members of the Champions Indoor Football league and always rank among the top scoring, and most exciting teams in the league to watch.

According to General Manager, Stuart Schake, "The event gives that fan who may know nothing about football the chance to be up close and right next to the action. You can hear the players talk, feel the hard hits, and cheer on your favorite players."

Schake is also no stranger to football. Having played at Pittsburg State University and an official for college football, Stuart brings the knowledge of all aspects of the game to the Force. Schake had in the past worked as Assistant General Manager for the Wichita Wild football team and has owned multiple businesses in the Dallas market. Like Schake, new head coach Morris Lolar previously coached the Wichita Wild to a championship and has also honed his skills coaching college football at Independence Community College and most recently, Bethel College. Lolar brings years of experience to the team and is a familiar face to Wichita football fans.

The Players

The Players

The Force bring a few returning players from previous seasons and also many new faces.

A four-year veteran of the team, Kendrick Harper played college football at the University of Kansas and is year after year one of the top defensive players in the league.

Harper said "What I look forward to in this upcoming season is playing in front of our great fans who treat us like family! I'm also excited to play with old and new teammates to try our best to bring home another Championship to the city of Wichita!"

There are several players originally from the Wichita area who have returned to the city after college to play for the Wichita Force, as well as players that have fallen in love with the city when they have come to play for the Force and now call it home.

The Atmosphere

One of the things you will immediately notice when coming to a game is the fans. The atmosphere in the arena on game nights is like no other.

Superfan Matthew Barnes has followed the team since year one and says, "Force Football is about one word – Family. Regardless of the outcome of any given season, I know I am always among people who I gladly call family. Players, coaches, owners, and especially fellow fans have become an integral part of my life. Those connections would likely not exist if it wasn't for Wichita Force Football, so I am extremely thankful for all it entails."

What to Expect

The team is currently 1-1 on the season. They look forward to an away game at Duke City and, then, opening the season at home on March 31.

Schake said this year there will be promotions during each and every home game, such as food and drink specials and theme nights. Promotions are available to a limited number of fans who enter.

Opening night on March 31 will be Team Poster Night. There will also be an autograph party after the game to come and meet your favorite players (they may even pose for a picture or two)!
