Eastyn's DisneyWorld Wish Granted by Scholfield, Envision

A trip to DisneyWorld is often said to be a dream come true, and for Eastyn, it couldn’t be any more true.  

Eastyn, almost three years old, suffers from bi-lateral retinoblastoma. His wish, through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, is to go to DisneyWorld, and thanks to corporate donations from Scholfield Honda and Envision, that dream is coming true.

“Roger and Heather here with Envision have come together to adopt Eastyn’s wish,” said Development officer for Make-A-Wish Kansas Brittany Weis at a Friday sendoff party. “Without individual donors and corporate donors, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do, so we’re very appreciative of you guys’ support. Thank you.”

Eastyn was surprised with the news that he and his family would be traveling to DisneyWorld in just a few short weeks.

“It means a lot to us that we get to go as a family and just go enjoy ourselves and not have to worry about the cancer world or getting treatments, you know, getting chemo in the eye, or anything like that,” Eastyn’s mom said.

“Thanks a lot for everything, Scholfield and Make-A-Wish for Eastyn’s wish. It means a lot to us as a family and a lot to Eastyn, and we’re really looking forward to having a good time. We really appreciate everything, so thank you guys very much,” Eastyn’s dad said.

The reveal party was held at Scholfield Honda’s east Wichita Dealership. Eastyn’s family and friends, Roger and the Scholfield staff, and representatives from Envision and Make-A-Wish all gathered to surprise Eastyn. The Party was a huge success, with lunch donated by Knolla's Pizza and ice cream treats donated by Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers. 

Though the Make-A-Wish Foundation only granted wishes to children with terminal cases upon opening, the organization has expanded, now working with children who suffer from life-threatening illnesses, not just terminal cases. In fact, 75 percent of the children that the Make-A-Wish Foundation works with have great prognoses, and Eastyn is among that percentage.
