Since 1940, our mission has been to produce the highest quality products in the marketplace. We have grown from a small, regional metal fabricator to the largest hand truck manufacturer in the world.

Raw materials, design, manufacturing and finishing methods are carefully combined to produce hand trucks with maximum strength and service. All Harper Hand Trucks are completely manufactured and finished in the United States. Our consumer hand trucks are carried by the largest retailers in the country. Our industrial product line is sold nationwide through authorized distributors. Our central ship point allows us to deliver products on a timely basis.
Our engineering department is always looking for ways to improve our products. Whether it's the introduction of the retractable ratchet or our patented nylon hand truck; Harper consistently searches for materials and methods to improve quality and performance.
The Harper plant is centrally located in Wichita, Kansas, is comprised of 350,000 square feet with 50,000 square feet reserved for finished inventory, and employs more than 175 people. Our manufacturing process consists of automated presses and dies feeding 14 robotic welders that produce a quantity of 2500 units per day. The precision of the robotic welders ensures the highest quality products. Harper trucks are manufactured with full robotic and new composite-injection technologies. Our workforce monitors each manufacturing phase to ensure that you receive the best possible product. All of our units are finished with a high gloss, power coat paint.
