Myoptix fashion eyewear was established in 2001, and I've owned it since August of 2003. I have been an optician for nearly 30 years and learned first hand the old ways of constructing and manufacturing eyewear. In the old days, we literally made glasses by hand using glass cutters and hand stones to bevel the lenses. Of course, today we have automated machinery to do most of the work by using computer programs. However, nothing can replace, including computers, the craftsmanship of hand made eyewear. At Myoptix, I use a combination of both to create very unique fashions for all tastes and needs.
Lately, we have been experimenting with hand painted frames embedded with all types of stones including diamonds. We are the only optical company in Wichita to be doing this right now and we will design and manufacture to your individual tastes. We custom make all lenses from the most challenging prescriptions to non-prescription sunglasses. We also refurbish antique frames and will custom fit most any prescription into your favorite nostalgic frames whether it was past down through your family, or one that you found at a flea market.
My pledge to all of my valued customers is to give you the best lens technology available with the latest frame fashions at a very reasonable price. My philosophy is that you don't have to mortgage the house for a pair of glasses, and you will never have to sacrifice quality for price.
Yours truly, Jon Herrscher - Owner
I wanted to say, I've never experienced real customer service until now.
I broke my glasses within a year of getting them from Myoptix. I took them back to them in hopes of getting some good news on a repair but was not hopeful as I couldn't find a missing piece. They told me they would see what they could do for me. I've heard this before from the "big" stores and new what I should expect.
A week later they called me and told me my new glasses were in and told me it took so long because they don't carry that frame anymore and had to contact the company in Europe and they got held up in customs. The bottom line is that I never even called them to check for fear of bad news and they did more than I ever expected to get the frames I wanted, truly going above and beyond expectations.
Thank you.
