The Kansas Division of Vehicles will offer Saturday morning office hours at the six busiest state driver licensing offices beginning on Feb. 6.
Wichita is among the locations chosen to adopt new hours, along with Andover, Derby, Mission, Olathe and Topeka. These offices will open at 7:30 a.m. and remain open until 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays, in addition to their regular of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.
In order to accommodate this change, the staff has been shifted from Mondays to Saturdays by the Division. As a result, the offices will now be closed on Mondays.
Driver solutions desk services will also be added to the offices in Topeka and Mission. This addition will allow office workers to reinstate suspended licenses, pay reinstatement fees and apply for restricted driving privileges without the requirement of calling or visiting the Docking State Office Building.
The Driver Solutions desk is expected to be added to Wichita’s Twin Lakes office during the summer.
Customers are also able to get in line at the offices virtually, and prior to showing up in person. This can be done online, or through text message, by sending the office name and DL, for example Wichita DL, to 641-243-8006.211.
