Republican Kansas Senator Jerry Moran will visit Wichita's Exploration Place and receive a tour of the facility on Saturday, May 14. Jan Luth, Exploration Place's president, will share details regarding efforts the museum has raken to become so successful, as well as details on Exploration Place's massive outreach programs, which serve approximately 70,000 children throughout the state.
Luth will also discuss special projects with Senator moran, like a project with Wichita’s Hyde Elementary and another with the third and fourth graders in Sumner County. Museum educators have been teaching in these locations and their efforts have been professionally evaluated. These evaluations show positive results and impacts on teachers as well as students.
Moran is an advocate for STEM (a curriculum which focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering and MAthematics) education. As a United States Senator, one of Moran's priorities is to make certain that Kansas kids who enjoy science, mathematics, and technology have the opportunity to pursue those careers in the state of Kansas.
Senator Moran will be at Exploration Place on Saturday, May 14 from 11:45 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
