MSNBC’s daily program, Morning Joe, will broadcast live right here in Wichita, Kansas, on Tuesday, Nov. 3. The live broadcast co-hosted by Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough will provide a recap of the previous day's Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting. The show will be broadcast from the dining area of Wichita State University’s Shocker Hall dormitory from 5 a.m. until 8 a.m. Elected officials, business leaders, students and the public are invited to sign up to join the program’s live audience. Doors will open at 4:30 a.m., and participants will enter through the building’s northeast entrance. Free public parking will be available in the Koch Arena parking lot.
Angie Elliott, the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Director of Business Services, has been highly involved with both the Chamber’s Annual Meeting and the Morning Joe broadcast.
According to Elliott, Officials from WSU have been very helpful to the MSNBC crew, (three of whom visited the campus last week.) Elliott also noted that Wichita State University has experience hosting other nationally televised events, making them a valuable partner for the program.
“MSNBC producers were familiar with all the impressive things happening at WSU. They were interested in touring some of the new facilities and thought the vibrancy of the campus would bring the right energy to their programming,” Elliott said.
The Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting will take place on Monday. Nov. 2, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at Wichita’s Century II. Chairman of the Board and CEO of Koch Industries, Inc., Charles G. Koch, is highlighted as the meeting’s featured speaker. Balcony tickets for the program can be reserved online for $35.
