The annual Evening of Hospitality event hosted by the Educational Foundation of the Kansas Restaurant and Hospitality Association will be held on Monday, Oct. 17, from 6-9 p.m.
Taking place at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Wichita, the event will include gourmet food prepared by Chef Paul Freimuth, (with the assistance of high school culinary students from the ProStart program) and an award ceremony.
The event will also offer attendees an opportunity to network while they participate in a silent auction. The menu highlights a variety of food stations including stations for Cajun food, Octoberfest food, and Southern Decadence. Each dish will be paired with wine and beer sponsored by the LDF Companies.
The highlight of the evening will be the “Stars of the Industry” awards, given for accomplishments and dedication to industry recipients. This year’s Stars of the Industry winners include:
- Teacher of the Year – Lacy Woods, Wichita Heights High School
- Mentor of the Year – Chef Adrian Prud Homme, Bella Vita Bistro, Wichita
- Allied Member of the Year – Paul Baumgartner, Retail Data Systems
- Restaurateur of the Year – Ron Oberg, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers
- Hall of Fame – Bob Carmichael, Perkins Restaurant & Bakery
