A request for Proposals (RFP) has been issued by the City of Wichita for the possible sale of the Hyatt Regency Wichita Hotel & Conference Center.
A pre-bid tour and conference of has been scheduled for May 18. The event will be held at the hotel at 2 p.m. Offers will be accepted until the deadline, which has been set for 2 p.m. on June 22, according to Assistant City Manager Scot Rigby, who manages economic development efforts.
Rigby also nothe that the RFPs are currently being distributed to local, regional and national hotel incestors, brokers and developers via mail and email Rigby added. The request is available online here.
A Wichita City Council vote on April 19 unanimously decided to put the hotel up for sale. The 7-0 vote allowed City Council to begin the process of accepting these proposals from potential buyers.
The hotel is located in downtown Wichita at 400 W. Waterman, and features 303 rooms with views of the city and of the Arkansas River. The property also features 29 meeting rooms, a heated indoor pool, two indoor whirlpools, a fitness center and a covered parking garage with 500 spaces.
