This weekend, the Tallgrass Film Association and CreativeRush join forces to bring the Down to the Wire: 24 Hour Film Race to Wichita for the fifth time!
The event begins on Saturday morning at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, where competing teams will congregate to hear competition details. They will then have until 7 a.m. on Sunday, June 19, to submit their completed projects.
All film projects will be reviewed by a five-person jury who will determine the top ten films. These films will be screened at the Orpheum on Sunday night at 7 p.m.
Winners will be announced at the event, after they have been selected by a panel of VIP judges, including Tallgrass alumni filmmaker James Choi, KMUW’s Fletcher Powell and KWCH’s Emily Griffin, who will live critique each film.
Participating teams must be registered before 7 p.m. on Friday, June 17, and the team producer must check in the team in order to receive a team number. At 7 p.m., a required producer's meeting will clarify competition rules and other information, as well as distribute talent release forms. At 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, there will be a required director's meeting, in which secret required elements will be chosen.
The public is invited to attend the Down to the Wire screening event. Doors open at 6 p.m. and general admission tickets are available for $10 each, and the price increases to $12 at the door.
