Roger Scholfield of Scholfield Honda is featured on the cover of the August issue of Car Biz Today, the official news source of the retail automotive industry.
Scholfield Honda received a dealership profile in the magazine, focusing primarily on the exceptional service Scholfield offers its customers, and how that service can translate into sales.
The Scholfield dealership began in Augusta, Kansas in 1954, when Vic and Dick Scholfield (Roger’s father and uncle, respectively) opened a used car lot. After acquiring an Oldsmobile and a Pontiac dealership, the Scholfield brothers were convinced to move to Wichita by General Motors. With a focus on service before sales from the start, the company has continued to thrive in Wichita ever since.
Scholfield Honda now operates under Roger, who emphasizes the importance of quality service, just as his father did. Roger believes that sales sell the first car, but service sells the rest. This concept is exemplified at Scholfield, and it's this kind of forward thinking that keeps the business growing.
In October of 2015, the Scholfield Honda dealership broke ground on a new Scholfield facility. The new building will offer 54,000 square feet, 24,000 square feet larger than the current dealership, which was built in 1985.
Scholfield Honda also promotes customer satisfaction and employee satisfaction. The dealership has been recognized in both of these areas, winning five consecutive Women’s Choice awards and multiple Best Places to Work awards.
The Women’s Choice Award is a national award that recognizes outstanding customer experience among women. Scholfield has also been named the overall best place to work in Wichita each year for the past three years. Additionally, Scholfield Honda ranked in Automotive News’s Top 100 Best Dealerships to Work For in 2015.
