On Friday night at 7 p.m., cheer on the Wichita Thunder hockey teams as they go head-to-head with the Allen Americans  at Intrust Bank Arena. It's youth jersey giveaway night and scout night, presented by Taco Bell and Pizza Hut, so you won't want to miss out! The doors will open at 6 p.m and the game begins at 7 p.m. Ticket Prices for Wichita Thunder hockey games range from $11- $34, and discounts are available for seniors, military and youth.

DJ Carbon Refresh at Abode Venue, Feb. 26

On Friday from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m., Abode Venue hosts DJ Carbon Refresh. If you're in need of a night out that's a bit different, Refresh is a great alternative to your usual plans. Featuring posh decor, chill music, appropriate lighting and an elegant venue, this event is one you won't soon forget.  It even offers cocktails designed just to suit the evening. Wear your finest, as a dress code will be strictly enforced.

Bellator at the Kansas Star Casino, Feb. 26

Watch as the world's best Mixed Martial Arts fighters compete st this year's Bellator at the Kansas Star casino. The MMA Bantamweight Championship returns to the Kansas Star on Friday at 6 p.m. Fans will be on the edge of their seats as Marcos "Loro" Galvao takes on the former champion, Eduardo "Dudu" Dantas. The event will also feature David Rickels, and a heavyweight contest featuring Cheick Kongo and the undefeated Augusto Sakai. Tickets start at $24.

Final Friday, Feb. 26

Support local businesses by participating in Final Friday! Final Friday is an event held on the last Friday of every month where several local businesses participate by offering special events. This Friday, you can expect to see new exhibitions opening at CityArts, 334 N. Mead, between 6 and 8 p.m. The event is free. In addition, Delano Bed and Breakfast will feature works by jewelry artist Becky Miller, who will showcase hand-sculpted, polymer clay flowers. This event will run from 5 until 8:30 p.m. Hopping Gnome Brewing Company highlights Gina and Tony Pasquariello as this month's featured artists. Enjoy the couple's paintings and sculptures while you grab a beer from Hopping Gnome and a bite from Township Mobile Cafe. There is no cover for this event. Last but not least, Reverie Coffee Roasters features local art, live music, and a local food truck of Final Fridays. Reverie's event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. with no admission. 


Family ArtVenture: Under The Big Top at Wichita Art Museum, Feb.27

Kids and families can come out to the Wichita Art Museum on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. for a circus themed day of fun! Featuring Jugglers extraordinaire Jay and Leslie's Laughing Matters, the performance will wow audiences. The classic Disney film "Dumbo" will play, and the circus experience is  complete with Cracker Jacks and juice boxes. THe museum will also offer art activities, so don't miss out. Guests can create their very own wire acrobats! The event is free to attend.


STEM Day at Rhatigan Student Center, Feb. 27

Bring the kids out for a fun day of learning at the Rhatigan Student Center! From 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, a variety of fun activities will be available for kids of all ages. The activities are designed to teach children about STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) in creative and fun ways. Children can be a mad scientist while discovering new things about STEM! This Student Activities Council sponsored event is free and open to the public, so come out to the Rhatigan Student Center to play and learn.


Death By Chocolate at Exploration Place, Feb. 27

Death By Chocolate at Explorat

Exploration Place's biggest annual fundraiser, Death By Chocolate, celebrates its 10th year this weekend. The event features unlimited chocolate savories from over 30 local restaurants, chefs and chocolatiers. Enjoy samples of endless sweets and rock out to live music performed by Annie Up. The event features a Rock'n'Roll theme this year, which coincides with the newly opened travelling exhibit, GUITAR: The Instrument that Rocked the World. Rock Star Attire is encouraged for the event, so break out your leather, feather boas sunglasses and more! This event runs from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.m on Saturday. Death By Chocolate is 21+, and tickets are available for $85 per person.


Lisa Lampanelli at the Orpheum, Feb 27

Catch insult comic Lisa Lampanelli at the Orpheum on Saturday at 8 p.m. Lampanelli is best know for her appearances on “Chelsea Lately,” “The Dr. Oz Show” “Good Morning America” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” She was also a member of the  cast on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice”  in season five, and she is a regular Howard Stern’s SiriusXM satellite radio shows. Lampanelli has also participated in several Friars Club And Comedy Central roasts, even serving as roastmaster for Comedy Central's roast of Larry the Cable Guy. Lampanelli has done her own specials and received tremendous ratings.

Academy Award Short Film Festival at the Warren West, Feb.27

The Wichita Public Library has been screening Academy Award films for years. In fact, this year marks the 30th, and the 30th anniversary screenings will go out with a bang this weekend, as the last program will be an all day event held at the Warren Theatre West. This year, the screenings are of short films, and three categories will be represented. The categories are documentary, animation and live action. The event will run from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The Academy Award Short Film Screenings are free and open to the public, so spend your day enjoying the variety of short films. The Warren Theatre West is located at 9150 W. 21st St. 


Shocker Basketball at Charles Koch Arena, Feb. 27

On Saturday, support the Shocker basketball team as they take on the Illinois State Redbirds in the last regular season home game at 1 p.m. If you can't make it to the game, don't sweat it. The Rhatigan Student center will offer Shocker basketball specials later in the evening! From 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., enjoy 20% off all starter menu selections, $1 any size fountain drink, $2 Bud Light draws,  $6.50 Bud Light pitchers, and a prize drawing! Please note that all patrons must be 21 years of age or older to purchase or consume beer.
