Well, it’s summer! While the kids may enjoy being out of school, parents may feel a little overwhelmed with the kids around all the time. Not to worry, several Wichita businesses and museums have great summer programs that will educate and entertain your kiddos while you get that much-needed break!
Imagine That Toys is a great place to take kids. Just walking into a room full of toys will keep them busy for awhile. That’s not all; they are offering fun events throughout the summer from science experiments to art projects! The Museum of World Treasures is hosting a Summer Adventure Camp through the end of July. There are both morning and afternoon sessions in which kids will learn about Paleontology and Ancient Civilizations. Prices range from $60-$75. Click here to learn more.
The Exploration Place has week-long summer camps going on through the beginning of August. “Paleontology: Can You Dig It?” camp starts next week. Camps range from water science to robotics to aviation. There are camps for all different ages, so check out all the options!
Maybe you’re looking for more activities to do with your children. If so, the Sedgwick County Zoo is offering many family-oriented events throughout the summer. Every Wednesday families are invited to join a bike club and take a ride around the zoo. It goes until October and is between $30-$34.
Twilight Tuesdays are a fun evening activity to enjoy with friends and family. The zoo opens back up at 6:00 p.m. for this event.
The Zoo is also having a Children’s Farms Festival on Saturday, June 22nd. During this event, children will be able to try milking a cow, learn to make butter and ice cream.
