Wichita is home to us and it’s important to keep it looking nice for not only the people that reside here, but also those who pass through! Help do your part this Saturday, April 13th at Downtown Clean Up.
Downtown is probably the most common grounds for tourists to visit because it’s the center of the city. There are many amazing parks, museums, restaurants and shops to visit, but with all the traffic, it can get pretty dirty. Downtown Clean Up is a city-wide volunteer effort to help make Wichita the beautiful place we all have grown to love.
Downtown Clean Up starts at 9:00am at the WDDC Design and Innovation Center for volunteer check-in. If you are under 18 make sure you have a parent or guardian there to sign the waiver for you. From 9:30am to 12:00pm, volunteers will make their way to assigned project areas to work. Lunch will be provided by Old Chicago to all volunteers at Naftzger Park.
Work clothes and work gloves should be worn. If you are interested in being a part of this great volunteer opportunity to clean up the community, RSVP by Thursday, April 11 to firstname.lastname@example.org or 316-264-6005. The jobs are assigned on a first come, first served basis, so don’t hesitate!
Clean Up Day Projects include: Underpass painting, curb & parking stall painting, street & sidewalk sweeping, bed maintenance & landscaping projects and trash pick-up.
