Chilton Billiards and Spas History
Opening in 1946, the store quickly became known for the excellent service it offered. It was important to owner Stan Chilton that his staff was honest and helpful, and that the store carried the latest equipment.
Because of Stan’s focus on quality, the store went on to win numerous “Top 10 Dealer” awards from Brunswick and several other awards for customer satisfaction. Stan ran the store until 2010, when he sold it to former employee Chris Simons. Six years later, Simons continues the same traditions that Stan Chilton established in 1946.
Many Wichitans remember the old Chilton Billiards and Spas building, which was adorned with massive pool balls on the roof. Now, after more than three years since they were taken down, the balls make an appearance at Chilton's new location at 700 S. Broadway, just in time for the store's anniversary. Here's to 70 more years!
