Date: through
Location: Beaver Lake
Price: $200 - Advanced Open Water
Category: Sports
So, you have completed the first part of your PADI SCUBA training--you mastered the knowledge in the classroom, and the skills in the water. Now it is time to demonstrate those skills in open water and earn your PADI Open Water SCUBA Diver certification!

This will happen during four Open Water checkout dives with your PADI Instructor at a dive site. You have up to 12 months after completing the Part 1 to complete Part 2 and earn your certification. This is where you have fun putting it all together and fully experience the underwater adventure – at the beginner level, of course.

You will make 4 dives while demonstrating the skills you learned from your Part 1 session in open water. And, of course, your friendly Adventure Sports team of Instructors, Assistant Instructors and Divemasters is right there to help keep it fun and safe!

We usually make 3 training dives dives on Saturday and 1 on Sunday, so the checkout process can usually be completed over a weekend.

Adventure Sports open water training dives are conducted at two locations. One is a local lake, which offers nice amenities and is used for Open Water Diver and other training requiring shallower depths.

Our open water training weekends are done at beautiful Beaver Lake.

Location: Rock and Kellogg
Price: $350
Category: Educational
The Adventure Sports team of friendly Instructors, Assistant Instructors and Divemasters is ready to help you make your diving dreams come true!

In the PADI Open Water Diver course, your Instructor will keep it safe and fun while you master the basics of how to scuba dive. You will learn the skills you need in a warm, clear swimming pool--moving gradually from shallow to deeper water.

PADI and Adventure Sports know that your time is valuable, so you can start your Open Water course TODAY with PADI's excellent independent study materials. On your own time, at your own pace, you develop familiarity with basic principles and procedures. You learn things like how pressure affects your body, how to choose the best gear and what to consider when planning dives.

Whether you complete Knowledge Development with the book and video, or on the computer, you will find the learning fun and enjoyable. In class, your Instructor will offer additional help and explanation--as well as a few fish stories! You briefly review what you studied in each section with your Instructor and take a short quiz to be sure you’re getting it. At the end of the course, you take an exam that makes sure you’ve got all the key concepts and ideas down.

Of course, diving is what it's all about and Adventure Sports trains in the largest and best swimming pools in Wichita. Your Instructor and assistants will help you develop basic scuba skills--everything from setting up your gear to how to easily get water out of your mask without surfacing. You’ll also practice some emergency skills, like sharing air – just in case. Plus, you may play some games, make new friends and have a great time.

Prerequisites: Minimum age of 10 years (at the discretion of the Instructor, in consultation with parents) for Junior Open Water Diver and 15 years old for Open Water Diver. Good health, reasonable fitness and comfort in the water.

Materials You’ll Need: PADI Open Water Crew-Pak, including your Open Water DVD, Log Book, dive tables and other materials.

$350 includes Part 1 and 2
