Great Food and Great Views!
Where else in Wichita can you get awesome local, handmade food and watch planes take off and land mere yards away?
Just 20 minutes away from most of the Wichita metro area, the Stearman Field Bar and Grill is a hidden gem. Our restaurant is located right off the runway at Stearman Field in Benton, so it's common to have pilots flying in for lunch from miles around (we even get helicopters from Fort Riley – clearly we're worth a 90 mile trip!).
Packed with airplane models and memorabilia, the most stunning thing in our dining area might be our giant, 20-foot industrial ceiling fan. If you'd prefer an even better view of the action outside, eat in our enclosed patio – a converted airplane hangar with a huge fire pit and whole walls that we open wide on nice days. Want to get even closer? Our outdoor patio and gazebo are just over a fence from the tarmac.
We're the perfect place for a day out with family or friends – we play all the local sports games (Shockers, Jayhawks, Wildcats and Chiefs) on our HDTVs and even have a small playground for the kids.
But it's not just the atmosphere that brings people in from miles around -- nearly all of our food is made fresh and in-house from local ingredients. We serve local craft beers from Walnut River Brewing in El Dorado and wine from Grace Hill Winery just up the road. From burgers to pizza to chicken fried steak to cheesecake, we've got delicious food that will leave you satisfied any time of day. We open at 7am every day and stay open until 9-10pm.
