Welcome to the Baby Hopspital
Known as “The Baby Hospital” since 1913, Wesley has the most experience and the area’s only freestanding BirthCare Center. More babies are delivered at Wesley than at any other hospital in a 13-state region.
For more than 85 years, Wesley has helped welcome babies into the world. Our expertise has earned us a reputation as the premier hospital for obstetrical services. Whether your birth experience is normal or complications develop, we provide you and your baby the best care possible.
Wesley has two facilities where babies are born. The BirthCare Center, which is a separate building on the north side of Murdock, is designed for mothers who are expecting a low-risk birth. The birth rooms in Wesley Women’s Hospital (in Building 3 of Wesley Medical Center) are designed for more complicated births. Both facilities have the finest medical and nursing personnel and technology, and both welcome family and friends.
Family Life Education
Wesley offers classes that help prepare families for pregnancy, childbirth, and child care; classes for mature adults; and fitness classes (in partnership with Health Strategies). Our instructors are knowledgeable, experienced and dedicated to helping families and individuals.
Wesley offers a Childbirth Package of classes for $120 per family. Classes include Off to a Good Start, Caring for Your Baby, Breastfeeding, The Dad's Class, Childbirth Preparation, Car Seat Safety, and Parent-Baby Time.
Also offered is a Refresher Package for $60 per family. Classes are Off to a Good Start, Childbirth Refresher, Big Kids and Babies, and Parent-Baby Time.

Wesley Children’s Center
The Children's Center at Wesley is essentially a Children’s Hospital with extensions into the community. In addition to the Pediatric Unit within Wesley’s main building, you will find a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit staffed with specialists in pediatric intensive care; a Pediatric Emergency Department; and a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for sick and premature newborns. Facilities outside the main hospital include the Pediatric Center of Kansas, a collaboration with the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita with outpatient clinics staffed by pediatric subspecialists; and a Ronald McDonald House where parents of hospitalized children can stay overnight.
