Ronald McDonald House provides safe, affordable, temporary lodging, amenities and emotional support for out-of-town families of ill or injured children- a “home away from home” for families of sick children.

Both the Sleepy Hollow House, near Wesley Medical Center, and the Midtown House, near Via-Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, have ten guest rooms with two twin beds each and plenty of room for roll-away beds. Each room has its own private bath.

Within each House, families will find large kitchens and several spacious common areas with comfortable furniture and televisions. Laundry facilities are also available. Donated food is available at the Houses for the families and often, meals are prepared and delivered by volunteers for the families to enjoy.

Both Wesley Medical Center and Via-Christi Regional Medical Center provide transportation for the families of Ronald McDonald House back and forth from the hospitals.

With the opening of the “Midtown” House in 1986 near Via-Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita became the first city in the world to have tow Ronald McDonald Houses.

Ronald McDonald Family Room is a place of respite right inside the Wesley hospital for local and out-of-town families to use while visiting their ill or injured children at the hospital. Families will find food, personal care items, laundry facilities and a comfortable place to relax and get away. It is open daily for 12 hours and is staffed with a volunteer who greets and supports the families using the Family Room.
