“Arrowhead Poker League” was conceived in 2006 by 3 of the top 5 “Amateur Poker Leagues National Top 10 Players (See Bluff Magazine Dec-Jan 2005 issue).  On August 28 2009 (after 3 years of hosting our new leagues games in local bars) Arrowhead Poker Cardroom was opened to offer our players a safe, non barroom, non smoking venue.  We originally catered to the retired and semi-retired more mature poker player whose social game was a high priority as well as a competitive game.

We now have players of all ages from 18 to 85, but we maintain a high level of respect for all players and foul language, disrespectful play at the tables, etc is not what we are about.  We feature highly trained dealers at every table, plenty of room to move around, not crowded and cramped like some venues. Although we are basically a “Free Poker Tournament” establishment per Kansas law, we offer a chair rental for players comfort and do offer some of Wichita’s largest cash prize pools at select games and times.  We are like family where after a time or two we will call you by name and make you feel at home.  We offer security in form of a camera monitored facility both inside and out, and a security staff is on hand in case there should be a need at any time to insure any player’s safety.  We have been without any incident of any kind since we opened and the only time police were called was to have them accept a substantial donation for needy families at Christmas.
