Aztec Building Maintenance started business in January of 1993 by Jorge Gomez. Aztec was formed as a professional building maintenance company specializing in commercial building maintenance which included: janitorial, window cleaning, carpet cleaning, snow removal and lawn service. In 1994 a contract was signed with a large national company to provide service to their 300+ properties in Kansas. That contract has been maintained to this day and the services have expanded to include additional landscaping services, exterior painting, parking lot maintenance, light bulb changing, parking garage maintenance, pest control, and seasonal weed control services.
Also in 1994, concrete painting and coating was an additional service that was added. Factories, warehouses, garages, and airport hangers called upon Aztec to provide this niche service. Through this service concrete floors are cleaned to apply safety markings, special designed paints for light reflection, and products specially designed to be applied to concrete floors that will resist and make easy cleanup of greases, oils and fuels.
Aztec has continued to grow and is currently staffed by 50 employees, with offices in Topeka, and Shawnee, Kansas, and the home office located in Wichita at 1821 North Ohio.
