Wichita Grand Opera presents Puccini’s La Boheme

Time: 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Date:
Location: Century II Concert Hall
Price: $37-$85
Category: Theatre / Dance
Wichita Grand Opera presents a new production of Puccini's "La Bohème;" the passionate, timeless, and unforgettable story of love among young artists in Paris, stakes its claim as the world’s most popular opera. At first glance, set to a ravishing score, "La Bohème" is the definitive depiction of the joys and sorrows of love and loss.

On closer inspection, it reveals the deep emotional significance hidden in the trivial things that make up our everyday lives, from a candle in the dark to a scarf in the cold. Puccini’s opera has inspired countless film and musical adaptations, including the Pulitzer and multiple-Tony Award-winning musical "RENT."

Wichita Grand Opera Sustainer's Night

Share by Email
Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Date:
Location: Wilson Estate
Category: Arts / Exhibits
Wichita Grand Opera’s annual Sustainers Night is an exclusive, by-invitation-only fundraiser in support of the WGO. As WGO’s largest annual fundraiser, the event has sustained WGO’s programs over the past 15 years. Attendees will meet WGO artists and get a glimpse of what it takes in terms of personnel, finances, and logistics behind-the-scenes to produce world-class opera.

WGO’s Sustainers recognize that Wichita Grand Opera creates productions on a grand scale, yet has a budget many times smaller than other companies nationwide. At the conclusion of an entertaining and informative evening, attendees are asked to pledge financial support to the WGO over the next three or five years in one of two categories:

Sustainers
The backbone of Wichita Grand Opera, who pledge
$25,000 per year for a period of 5 years.

Matching Sustainers
Those who pledge a minimum of $5,000 per year
to match the pledges of the Sustainers.

If you are interested in helping secure the future of Wichita Grand Opera and would like to attend Sustainers Night 2016, please contact WGO’s Development staff at 316-262-8054.
