Fine Wines for Fine Folk
You don't have to be on the West Coast to tour a stellar local winery!
Nestled in the Flint Hills on a historic 1876 farm just southeast of Wichita lies Wheat State Wine Co. Among picturesque rolling hills, we make high-quality wines of all kinds – both reds and whites, from dry to semi-sweet to sweet. Our elegant-rustic tasting room features a cork floor and wood beams with a window onto the floor so you can see the wine-making process yourself.
The unique grape varietals that we grow in our vineyards mean our wines are different from (yet absolutely on par with) wines from California and the Columbia Valley. For instance, Dandy Horse is a fruit-forward dry white similar to Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, but less abrasive; Flatpick is a semi-sweet white similar to Riesling. Dog Run Red and Plow Boy, however, are hard to compare to more commonly known grape varietals because of their unique attributes. You'll just have to come and try them for yourself.
We're open Fridays and weekends for free tastings and tours (or any time by appointment), and ask for our wines in your local wine and liquor stores.
