Siblings are welcome to attend, but classes are primarily geared towards 3-5-year-olds. Each program is offered from 10:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

This program is free and preregistration is not required.

Wee Wigglers offers a 30-minute program for children ages 12–23 month. At Wee Wigglers, these children will gain a first-hand experience of the wonders of animals. With interactive learning and an animal visitor, these programs are educational and fun! Wee Wigglers offers a focus on a different animal each month and two programs per month.

A fee of $4 for members and $6 for nonmembers will cover one adult and one child. Additional children can participate for just $2.

Programs take place at 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. Space is limited; therefore pre-registration is required.

The fee of $8 for members and $10 for nonmembers covers one child. Programs will run from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Senior Wednesdays

Senior Wednesdays at the Sedgwick County Zoo take place at 10:15 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month. Each session will highlight a different theme and feature breakfast sundries, an informational chat and a tour or special guest. The program is intended for active guests over the age of 55 and is priced at $4 per adult.

Preregistration is not required.

Other locations, including Wichita Museum of Art, Ulrich Museum, Historical Museum, Wichita's Downtown Public Library, Great Plains Nature Center, Old Cowtown Museum, Exploration Place, WATER Center and The Kansas African American Museum host Senior Wednesday events on other dates.

Children's Farm Festival: Sheep Shearing

Join us as we shear the sheep and prepare for spring. The Zoo’s Tunis, Karakul, and Navajo Churro sheep will be sheared in the American Barn throughout the morning. Guests will get to feel the different wool, try their hand at wool carding and hand spinning. Knitters and spinners will also be on hand to show you how this beautiful wool can be turned into sweaters, scarves and much more. It will be a fun time for all!
