AboutAbout Us

The Crown Uptown Professional Dinner Theatre is Wichita's most popular and the only year round professional theatre in the area. We have the finest professional talent from across the country. Enjoy Broadway-style musicals, comedies and celebrity guest artists.

Established in 1977, the Crown Uptown is located in a historic 1928 vaudeville theatre. It was designed by the famous Boller Brothers and was Wichita's first fully atmospheric theatre.

Before the show, guests enjoy a four-entrée buffet with eight sides, a salad bar and soup. Our buffet selections change throughout the year to provide a variety of seasonal choices. It's important to us that only the freshest and most flavorful items are included. Coffee and iced tea are complimentary. Crown Uptown guests may also enjoy hors d'oeuvres, a delicious dessert or a cocktail at their table. When the house lights dim, the magic begins!

SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS – Feb. 12 – Apr. 12, 2009

"Goin’ courting" has never been as much fun as in this rip-roaring stage version of the popular MGM movie. A young bride living in the 1850s Oregon wilderness plans to civilize and marry off her six rowdy brothers-in-law to ensure the success of her own marriage. Bursting with the rambunctious energy of the original film, "Seven Brides For Seven Brothers" is all boisterous fun and romance that harkens back to the glory days of the movie musical. Performances are Thursday thru Sunday evenings with three select Thursday matinees on Feb. 19, Mar. 12 and Mar. 26.

SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN – Apr. 16 – Jun. 7, 2009

VIAGRA FALLS – Aug. 6 – Sept. 13, 2009

"A scale of 1 to 10, this show’s a 12!" – Carol Burnett

This laugh out loud comedy is a rare treat! Widowers Charley, who turns 77, and his best friend Moe, want to do something special to celebrate. This includes the help of a few call girls and some black-market Viagra. Trouble is, Moe doesn’t want to participate and Charley has a deep, dark secret he’d rather not share. This extremely funny comedy by one of Carol Burnett’s writers examines the importance of good friendships, emotions that don’t diminish with age and the idea of feeling wanted makes the difference between living and just existing.
